Sadly, no records for Brees this year

Through two games, it looked like Drew Brees had a realistic shot at reaching two NFL milestones. He had thrown for nine touchdowns and 669 yards against the Lions and Eagles, and many were saying that Brees had a chance of reaching 50 TD's and 5,000 yards -- monumental accomplishments in the NFL.
However, just two weeks later, the odds of him reaching either mark is 1000-1. Against the Bills and Jets in weeks 3 and 4, Brees threw ZERO touchdowns and a combined 362 yards. He would have to throw three-and-a-half touchdowns every week for the rest of the year to get to 50, and since the Saints probably won't be playing him a lot in Week 16 and 17, he basically has no shot. Same thing with the yard milestone: you can't expect to reach 5,000 yards with back-to-back weeks with less than 200.
Oh well. I guess we won't be seeing the Drew Bress "Chasing Milestone" tag on the ESPN ticker this year. Not that it matters. As long as his team keeps winning, it doesn't matter what he puts up.

He is still good
"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature.
The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."
Mechem on the roots of Troy Polamalu
I can say this as a fact...
Drew would rather win a Superbowl than surpass any sort of personal milestone. Lookin’ good so far.

It hard to break passing records
when most of your wide receivers are average. Outside of Marques Colston, they have Rod Harper, Devery Henderson, Robert Meachem, Lance Moore, and Courtney Roby. Shockey and Bush may help the passing attack, but if you’re looking to break records it’s the wide receivers that need to put up big numbers.
