The Sixers old new jersey

Last year, the Philadelphia 76ers started wearing their home uniforms from the 1983 season, honoring the 25 years since they last won an NBA title and the final year of the Spectrum. Apparently the jerseys were such a hit that they decided to revert back to the old logo and uni design from that decade -- with a few changes put in.
This has actually become somewhat of a recent trend in the NBA, where teams who changed their color scheme in the 90's are going back to their old ones. The Milwaukee Bucks went from purple-and-green to their classic red-and-green, the Pistons went from teal-and-red to blue-and-red, the Cavaliers went from blue-and-orange to wine-and-gold, the Rockets went from blue to red, and the Hornets went back from aqua-green to blue. Even the Seattle SuperSonics, before they ceased to exist, went back to a uniform design that resembled the one they wore in the late 80's.
They trend is proving so popular that it makes me wonder what teams are next to follow...
Golden State Warriors:
The Warriors always wore blue-and-gold uniforms until the late 90's, when dark blue and orange became their primary colors. As bad as the Warriors have been, and as long as Golden State has kept their current uniform, I expect them to switch to a blue and yellow uniform some time in the next couple years. After all, new look means more sales, and more sales mean more money.
New Jersey Nets:
Prior to the last decade, the Nets always wore red-white-and-blue uniforms, uniforms that were actually pretty terrible-looking. But now that the team has been sold and will be moving to Brooklyn in a few years, I think it's safe to say that the team will be getting a new look. I'm not sure if they'll go back to the old treads -- their Russian owner may not want to infuse strictly American colors into the design's framework -- but we'll know in a few years.
Atlanta Hawks:
The Hawks are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA and they have always worn red and yellow -- at least until the last couple seasons. With their recent success, I don't think they'll be switching it up anytime soon. But when they do decide to don a new uniform, it's a sure bet that they'll ditch the blue and go back to the red.
Dallas Mavericks:
The Mavericks used to always have green in their color scheme, and though the Mavs have a green-and-blue alternate, green has been absent from the team's colors in the last eight or nine years. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, since the new jerseys are pretty good and the team has been winning ever since. However, if the team was to switch it up -- if they did a Sixers and went back to the old stuff -- it'd probably be to the old green-and-blue.
Toronto Raptors:
The Raptors wore purple-and-red jerseys for about a decade before they ditched the purple and stuck with the red. While I'm hesitant to think that any team would go back to purple uniforms, Toronto is so dysfunctional that it doesn't seem that unlikely.

The NBA is far from the only league to fall in love with its own history. MLB, NHL, NFL, and CFL have all seen a rash of vintage/retro jerseys crop up over the last five or so years. It’s a surprising trend, given how much some hockey teams, for example, were trying to distance themselves from their traditional looks (and good taste in general), but as a fan of jersey history and the simple, classic lines of yesteryear, I’ll certainly take it.
Long as the Astros keep that rainbow shit in a museum and off the field. Ugh.

I'm a little dissapointed with how the Sixers' jerseys came out.
I would have liked it to look a little more like the originals.

I agree
I dislike the numbering, and the jerseys are needlessly clean, too boring, and almost look “old” rather than retro. Love the logo throwback, but dislike the jerseys. Their jersey in the mid-90’s before the color revamp were criminally underrated, I was hoping to see them brought back in some capacity.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a Warriors revamp. I’ve always hated their logo, but I’ve loved the lettering, but I don’t know if the lettering would work in their traditional blue and gold.
I would like to see the Mavs incorporate more green into their jerseys. That’s how I’ll always remember them, as blue and green, not blue and silver. Even the blue jerseys with the green trim were nice.
So crisp and clean.

On the Kings
Since that was the only time Sacramento actually didn’t wear some form of purple, I don’t think they’d go back. Purple signifies royalty after all. Kansas City Royals, L.A. Kings, etc.
