NFL Week 5 Footnotes

- Kurt Warner joined Fran Tarkenton as the only passers to throw for 13,000 yards with two separate teams (Tarkenton did it with Minnesota and the Giants). Warner also had the 50th game of his career with 300 passing yards, joining Dan Marino, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Dan Fouts as the only players to do that. That sounds like a Hall of Famer.
- For the first time in franchise history, the Oakland Raiders have lost three straight games by at least 20 points. And in their last four games, JaMarcus Russell has ZERO touchdowns. ZERO. Russell is nowhere near Ryan Leaf numbers in terms of futility, but man, he's making a strong case for the second worst draft pick of all time.
- If the Buccaneers go 0-16, they will definitely supplant the Detroit Lions as the worst team in NFL history (excusing the '76 Bucs of course). Not only are the Bucs 0-5, they have a 32 year-old coach, they fired their offensive coordinator before the season, they have a quarterback out of high school, they have no running game, and their defense is horrible. I mean, MAN do they suck.
- What more does Jim Zorn have to do to get himself fired? Week after week after week, the Redskins go out and look awful against every team they play -- even if they win. Obviously he has the benefit of the doubt from Dan Snyder -- that was an inspired hiring if ever there was one. But even Snyder's got to be itching for a change about now.
- The legacy of the "Man-genious" is falling hard and fast. Unless the Browns go 1-15, Magini is safe until next year. But still, I can't imagine that he'll ever get another coaching job again. That Browns-Bills snorefest was the lowest-scoring NFL game in two years: an 8-0 Browns victory over... the Bills.
- Those old Broncos uniforms were pretty awful, right? Brown and yellow socks. Eugh.

As a Giants fan
we couldn’t be more happy to have played dominated three of the bad teams you’ve mentioned above.
Warner should be a lock for the HoF. He’s been very good for a pretty long stretch now. A starting QB (and not a bus driver) for three Super Bowls is impressive.
the AFL jerseys for broncos weren't that bad
but the sock were.
I agree Warner is a Hall of Famer. From grocery store bag boy to three time super bowl starting QB isn’t bad
"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature.
The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."
Mechem on the roots of Troy Polamalu
Maybe I'm crazy
but i like those socks!
Ray Rice is so agile. He's a whole new breed for agile you need a new word to describe his agility... UBER-AGILITY!

Warner
Those numbers are very impressive, but the one that seals it for me is that he has the three highest passing yardage totals in SB history.
